Here’s your chance to make a difference! Join us for a day at the Seafarer’s Center in Boston and help run the operations that serve seafarers from all over the world. Accessible by T or with free parking. Our Fall season is especially busy with a fleet of ships on most weekdays.

Retired and looking for ways to help? We are accessible by T (Senior Citizens can get discounted T tickets. Skip the traffic!)
College student with a no class or light schedule days? Some days are light enough we just need help staffing a spot. Bring your device/books and study between seafarers.
Working for a company with Community Service offerings? We can provide you with a non-profit location to fulfill those opportunities.
In Boston already? We can use help during your lunch hour (or hour and a half!?)
Self-Employed/Work from home? Make the Mission your remote workplace. We have great internet. Set up shop with us.

What will we ask you to do?

We operate a small but very busy crew market. Volunteers will help to price items, stock the shelves, and run the cash registers
We let crew use our address to drop ship packages. Volunteers ban help us process the parcels in and then help to sign them out to the seafarer when they come to pick them up.
We offer FREE coffee, so we need to keep our hospitality station neat and well stocked.
Volunteers who can commit to repeat visits can be trained to help us process money transfers for the crew so they can send their money home.
Typically, we start our day at 8:30 and go until mid-afternoon. See our schedule for more date specific times.
Dress very comfortably and bring a bagged lunch. We provide free drinks and chips.

If you would like to volunteer, please find an OPEN date (Any day that shows how many volunteers needed and does not say “RESERVED”) on the calendar below. We have listed how many persons needed for that day and the approximate start time. You don’t need to take the whole complement needed. Just come and be part of a larger team!
